Peter Murphy is a Director in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Peter has over 30 years’ experience practising law in Gippsland.
He practices in a range of areas of law including Commercial Litigation, Will Disputes, Employment Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Discrimination Law and Criminal Law and Family Law.
Peter holds Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Laws from Melbourne University. He is an accredited Specialist in Family Law and Criminal Law.
Highly regarded in the profession, Peter is listed on the Doyles list of leading lawyers practising within the areas of Family Law and Criminal defence.
Peter travels regularly throughout the region, including to Sale, Orbost, Morwell, Dandenong and Melbourne to both attend court and visit clients.
He has been involved in the local Gippsland community and sporting organisations over many years. Peter is a former president of the Gippsland Law Association and the Ski Club of East Gippsland. He is currently a board member of the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. Peter is also a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV).
Rohan Hubbard is a Director in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Rohan has over 20 years’ experience in Commercial and Business Law.
He can provide advice on a range of business transactions including sale and purchase of a business, franchises, business structures, joint ventures, companies and trusts and commercial and retail leases. He is also experienced in providing property law and contract law advice, including commercial and residential sales and purchases, subdivisions and planning.
In addition to the above services, Rohan also practices in Employment law and can assist with a range of matters including employment contracts, policies and procedures and other employment related disputes.
Rohan advises and supports many small and medium sized enterprises in a diverse range of matters. He also acts for large enterprises and can provide advice on a variety of matters, prepare contracts and a range of commercial agreements. Some of Rohan’s clients have included Patties Foods, Workways Australia, East Gippsland Water, East Gippsland Shire Council, TAFE Gippsland and Dyers Distribution.
Rohan frequently travels to both Sale and Warburton to visit clients.
He is a former board member of the Committee for Gippsland and is currently the Vice President of the Bairnsdale Club Inc. Rohan is also a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV).
Bevan Clarke is a Director located in WG&M’s Lakes Entrance office.
Bevan holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Arts (Journalism and Communication) and Laws. He began working at WG&M in 2006 and became a Director in 2014.
Bevan aims to achieve cost-effective solutions to his clients legal problems. His clients value his approachable nature and his ability to communicate clearly and simply.
He works across a range of areas including Commercial and Business Law, Wills and Estates, and Conveyancing. He regularly travels to visit clients in Sale, Orbost and Mallacoota.
He is the Vice President of the Paynesville Junior Football Netball Club and former Secretary of the Paynesville Cricket Club. Bevan enjoys outdoor leisure activities such as fishing and camping with his family.

Alison Tanner is a Senior Associate in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Alison practices in the area of Wills and Estates.
Alison holds Bachelors degrees in Arts and Laws. She was the Purvis Clarke Richards Prize winner in 1993 (awarded to Melbourne University’s top Succession Law Graduate).
Alison assists people with a wide range of matters including Probate and Letters of Administration, Will Disputes, Elder Law, Estate Planning, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Guardianship and Administration Orders.
She is a 4th generation East Gippslander and has served multiple terms as a board member of East Gippsland Water and East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority.

Katherine Argentino is an Associate in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office.
Katherine has over 15 years’ experience in Superannuation and Insurance claims and litigation. She has a depth of knowledge and skills in helping people who are unable to work due to injury or illness with various insurance claims, including total and permanent disablement (TPD) and income protection, life insurance and trauma insurance, along with general insurance claims such as home and contents.
She also practices in the areas of Personal Injuries and Commercial and Business Law.
Katherine grew up in Bairnsdale and recently returned to the area after practising in both Melbourne and Perth. Katherine is passionate about helping people and businesses in regional areas understand their legal rights and using her experience to ensure that they get the best possible outcomes.
Following the 2019/2020 bushfires, Katherine volunteered for Disaster Legal Help Victoria at the Bushfire Recovery Centre in Bairnsdale on a regular basis. Further to this work, Katherine has presented to case workers and financial counsellors to assist individuals and small businesses affected by the drought, bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Katherine is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) and the LIV Regional Lawyers Reference Group.
Jess Saunders is a Lawyer in WG&M’s Sale office. Jess practices in the areas of Wills and Estates, Family Law and Child Protection.
She grew up by the beach on the Mornington Peninsula and has been practising law since 2011. Prior to her admission as a lawyer, Jess volunteered at a number of community legal centres across Melbourne, where she gained valuable practical skills and her passion for advocacy.
Jess has worked in both private and government legal practice, appearing in Gippsland courts across various areas of law including Criminal Law, Civil Law and all aspects of Family Law including Child Protection. Jess has extensive experience as a duty lawyer and is a Legal Aid Panel certifier. Jess’ clients value her warmth and non-judgemental approach when working through their sensitive legal issues.
Jess enjoys her free time at the beach, kayaking and fishing with her family around the Gippsland Lakes.

Juanita Collins is a Lawyer based in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Juanita practices in the areas of Criminal Law and Family Law. She has a particular interest in children’s matters. She also has experience working in WG&M’s Conveyancing team.
Juanita completed a Bachelor of Laws at James Cook University in Cairns in 2015. She completed work experience in the Homeless Law Department of Justice Connect in Melbourne and in 2016 she moved to Bairnsdale where she worked at the Gippsland and East Gippsland Co-operative (GEGAC) before joining WG&M. Juanita understands the social and emotional impacts associated with legal problems and her client’s value her ability to empathise.
In her spare time, Juanita enjoys playing basketball in the Bairnsdale Basketball Association.

Erin Thorsen is a Lawyer in WG&M’s Sale office. Erin works in the areas of Family Law, Criminal Law, Intervention Orders, Child Protection and Wills and Estates.
Erin completed a Bachelor of Laws at Charles Darwin University in 2015. She worked as a Court Registrar prior to studying law and she has extensive knowledge of the court processes. Erin worked at various court locations across Victoria including Melbourne, Bendigo, Swan Hill and the Latrobe Valley.
She sits on the East Gippsland Football and Netball Tribunal and enjoys playing basketball in the Bairnsdale Basketball Association.

Jane Lightfoot is a Lawyer in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Jane practices in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Wills and Estates, Employment Law, Criminal Law and Family Law.
Jane holds Bachelor’s degrees in Arts (Political Science) and Laws, and a Diploma of Music (Clarinet).
Throughout her career, Jane has worked across several political and government organisations. Jane worked gathering evidence and providing research to the Victorian Parliament’s Inquiry into the Impact of Public Land Management Practices on the 2007 Bushfires and the Inquiry into Melbourne’s Future Water Supply. This work sparked Jane’s interest in working in Communities, particularly on Environmental matters.
Upon moving to East Gippsland, Jane continued her work with local Communities at the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority, where she Project Managed several different environmental studies and was involved in extensive Community consultations.
Jane also worked with East Gippsland Shire Council and has experience working in East Gippsland Communities in community development, communications and engagement.
Jane has lived in East Gippsland for over 10 years.
Jane enjoys tennis, running, music, art and spending time with her young family.

Susan Murphy completed a Graduate Certificate of Australian Migration Law in 2016. She joined WG&M as a Registered Migration Agent (RMA) in January 2017.
Susan previously worked as a Registered Nurse at Bairnsdale Regional Health Services and later as a teacher, predominantly in the English as an Additional Language field.
Susan holds a Masters in Education (TESOL), a Graduate Diploma in Education (Student Welfare) a Graduate Certificate in Teaching LOTE and a Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing.
As an RMA Susan helps people find their way through the complicated maze of Australian Migration law. Susan assists people with visa and citizenship applications as well as visa refusals, cancellations, appeals to the National Character Consideration Centre, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and Ministerial Intervention.
Susan takes pride in providing efficient client service and supporting people through what is often a difficult process.
Susan grew up in Bairnsdale and enjoys the easy life-style and beauty of the East Gippsland region.
