Peter Murphy is a former director now a Consultant in WG&M’s Bairnsdale office. Peter has over 30 years’ experience practising law in Gippsland.

He practices in a range of areas of law including Commercial Litigation, Will Disputes, Employment Law, Personal Injury Litigation, Discrimination Law and Criminal Law and Family Law.

Peter holds Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Laws from Melbourne University. He is an accredited Specialist in Family Law and Criminal Law.

Highly regarded in the profession, Peter is listed on the Doyles list of leading lawyers practising within the areas of Family Law and Criminal defence.

Peter travels regularly throughout the region, including to Sale, Orbost, Morwell, Dandenong and Melbourne to both attend court and visit clients. 

He has been involved in the local Gippsland community and sporting organisations over many years. Peter is a former president of the Gippsland Law Association and the Ski Club of East Gippsland. He is currently a board member of the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. Peter is also a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV).
