Leanne suffered an injury at work in 2012. She made a workers compensation claim and was represented by a big city law firm.
Leanne had lost income because she couldn’t work. Her injuries were deemed permanent. It was a long and hard road to settlement, she felt stressed and exhausted during the process.
Leanne battled for many years to try and return to work. For Leanne, the burden of taking a claim form to her doctor for completion each month meant that she felt like the consultation wasn’t about her or her health.
"I just wanted to see my doctor without asking them to fill out a form," said Leanne.
In 2020, Leanne made a claim for her superannuation and insurance benefits.
Leanne engaged WG&M Lawyers to represent her for these claims. She wanted to see someone locally because she could not travel due to her injuries.
Leanne found the insurance process emotional and frustrating.
Having a local lawyer made life easier for Leanne, who says, “It’s a personal thing, I appreciated the 1:1 support. Katherine met me in Lakes Entrance and was constantly in contact with me, it made a big difference, I felt comfortable and was able to build a connection with the person representing me.”
Quick resolution of Leanne's insurance claims has enabled her to move on with her life and focus on her health.
